About Our Scholarship Program
Symphonic Winds of Charlotte County offers three $1000 scholarships to graduating seniors from Port Charlotte, Charlotte, or Lemon Bay high schools. Students must be planning to attend college as music majors. Applicants must be participating in band or orchestra in their respective schools. Charlotte County students who are home schooled or who attend FSW Collegiate High School, and who participate in band or orchestra at one of the above-mentioned high schools, are eligible to apply.

Scholarship criteria
The following criteria will be used to evaluate each application:
- Academic Transcript (minimum overall 2.5 GPA)
- School / Community Band Activities
- Extracurricular Activities / Community Involvement
- Student Music Career Ambitions
- Band director recommendation letter
Winning applicants will be introduced to the audience at a concert of the Symphonic Winds, and at the student’s school awards ceremony. Scholarship payment will be made to the university or college after the student has enrolled.

Submit your completed application and all supporting documents by the deadline to be considered for the scholarship.
