The Symphonic Winds of Charlotte County and their Artistic Director, Steve Bell are pleased to announce the schedule for the 2026-2027 concert season. The concerts will contain a variety of music that is bound to appeal to young and old. Throughout the season you will hear marches and concert band renditions of classical works. There will be music you’ve probably heard on the radio and music from the swing era. And there will be show tunes. Many of the shows will be enhanced by vocal and instrumental soloists.

This stirring concert weaves together traditional and poignant songs that celebrate the freedoms we hold dear, alongside treasured classics that honor our shared musical heritage. Special guest Doreen Curp returns to the Symphonic Winds stage, and we’ve tucked a few surprises into the program you won’t want to miss. Plus, keep an ear out for Leroy Anderson – our featured composer of the year – whose sparkling music will appear in every concert this season.

This concert blends cherished old favorites with fresh, heartfelt arrangements of beloved classics – plus a few jazzy, toe-tapping surprises to keep things merry and bright. We’re thrilled to welcome new vocal artist Dr. David DaSilva for a stirring rendition of “Mary Did You Know.” Since Leroy Anderson is our featured composer of the year, you’ll hear his festive music not once, but twice during the evening.

The Symphonic Winds takes you on a whirlwind tour through vibrant cultural soundscapes, from gorgeous, lush ballads to irresistible Latin rhythms that will have you dancing in your seat. Our itinerary begins in the Caribbean, where calypso reigns supreme, then sweeps across romantic Europe through several beloved destinations. Next, we bask in the sun-drenched sounds of the Mediterranean before venturing to the Far East, and finally cross the Pacific for a very special musical homecoming in our Fiftieth State. Take a journey through the soul of American music! This concert explores the rich traditions of American-born blues and its powerful blend with down-home gospel. Beloved vocalist Doreen Curp returns to the SWCC stage, bringing her signature style to a Gershwin classic and a timeless Rogers and Hart favorite. We’re also thrilled to feature Adren Hance on an unforgettable musical excursion down the Mississippi River, weaving together ragtime and jazz on his trombone. Expect thrilling bursts of brass, warm moments of nostalgia, and several exciting new additions to our musical library that you won’t want to miss.

March brings the luck of the Irish to the SWCC stage! In the spirit of Saint Patrick’s Day, this spirited concert celebrates the rich musical traditions of the Emerald Isle. The highlight of the evening features three vibrant selections from Leroy Anderson’s Irish Suite, weaving together joyous dance tunes and tender, lovely ballads. The drones return, the river beckons, and the Symphonic Winds are back along the banks of the Peace River for our most electrifying concert of the season! This year’s program explodes with exciting medleys from rock and pop legends Billy Joel, Michael Jackson, and Aretha Franklin, plus spirited marches – including one for a superhero!
